Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website is created in loving memory of Robert Jerome Baker, Jr. (Bobby), our dear son, brother, father, husband, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, that we all miss so very much.

Bobby was born in the beautiful Napa Valley, at the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California on July 26, 1968.  He was truly his mother's pride and joy - her precious gift from God.  As a child Bobby grew up in California until he was twelve years old.  From the age of thirteen, he grew up in Florida, and as a young adult, Bobby moved with his family to Marietta, Georgia. There, while attending College at Kennesaw University and working at the Town Center Mall, Bobby met and married his wife, Charity.  They lived in Cobb County, Georgia, where Bobby was a Firefighter for nearly ten years.  Bobby and Charity have three beautiful and talented children, Rachel, Leah and Jared.  After a serious back injury which occurred in the line of jury, left Bobby disabled, he was no longer physically able to continue his job with the Cobb County Fire Department.  He left the Fire Department in 2003, and Bobby and his family moved to Valrico, Florida, near Tampa.  Two and a half years later, he was tragically killed in an automobile accident in Tampa, Florida, on April 7, 2006, at the age of 37.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Patti & Nathan Woosley, his wife Charity Ann Baker, and his three children, Rachel Ann Baker, Leah Marie Baker and Jared Matthew Baker, his sister Cynthia Lynn Roberts, his brother Stephen Daniel Baker, and his nieces and nephews, Ashleigh Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Adrian Roberts, Katie Baker and Douglas Baker, and his father, Robert Baker.

We know Bobby's spirit now lives with his Heavenly Father.  He no longer lives with the terrible pain he endured here for so long because of his back injury, and we know that he is happy and that he is very loved there in his new home.  But we cannot understand why he had to be taken away from us so young. Our hearts are broken that he is gone from us, and everyday without him is very sad.  We love him and we miss him so very much.

Bobby, my dear son, my precious baby, my special child, my handsome young man, we will always remember you and keep you in our hearts.  We will never forget your big dimpled-smile.  You will be forever young.

His legacy
To Our Beloved Bobby,

You were so much more to all of us than you could ever imagine.  You had such a wonderful sense of humor - even in the midst of hard times you could always make us laugh.  You had the most beautiful dimples in all the world, and the most wonderful smile. You were good looking, you were smart and talented, and you were a Firefighter that saved lives - yes, you were someone's hero.  You had such a desire for knowledge and you taught yourself so much about so many things - music, sports, history, science, politics.  You were always learning. You were very intelligent and the best "Jeopardy" player there ever was. You played the guitar, and oh, how you loved your music. You were a big brother to Stephen and Cindy, and you were a good son to your parents.

What a terrific father that will stand in line after midnight so that his kids could get tickets to see the new "Star Wars" movie.  Bobby, you were also a good cook and Thanksgiving will never be the same without you.  What a rare and special man that will tell the world how much he loves his cat.  Goodness, you could even juggle.  How cool you were.

You gave us three beautiful and wonderful children, who love you and will miss you so much.  They will never forget their Dad.  They are real good kids, and we are extremely proud of them.  You were never ashamed of your role as their "Mr. Mom."   In fact, you were very proud to have been their cook, their coach, their music teacher, to help them with their homework, you taught them how to use the computer and play games, when they were young, you soothed their tears and put them into bed at night, and they could always depend on you to call the school and defend them.  And you even taught them how to fish.

You were so proud that Jared made the highest grade ever in his school on the Florida Achievement Tests.  You know Bobby, that was in part due to you being his teacher throughout the years, and in part because he inherited your very high intelligence.  And thank you for giving Jared his passion for baseball and encouraging him to play from the time he was very young.  You were always so proud of how well he played and all that he accomplished.   Now, every home run he hits will be for his Dad.  "Hit it all the way to heaven Jared!"

Like you, your three children are all good looking, smart and talented.  But one of the most important things you did, you taught them how to laugh and have a good time.   Because of Rachel, Leah and Jared, you will always be here with us.  You are still smiling with those beautiful dimples, your dimples live on everytime we see Rachel laugh.  Your love of baseball will be right here every new seaon, and everytime Jared hits another home run, and your love of music survived too - Leah is getting really good on your guitar and your love and appreciation for music will live on in your children.  Yes, Bobby it is alive and doing well.  All we have to do to see you again is to look at Rachel, Leah and Jared, and we see you in their smiles, and in their eyes, and in their actions.  They will grow up and make you proud!

We love you Bobby! We miss you.

May God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand and we will see you again some day.
